Remote project management and/or remote consulting can be a wonderful thing and it can also be wonderfully frustrating thing. I’m very much in favor of it. I hate the waste of time it takes to drive to an office only to be managing a project team that is usually located several hundred miles away or halfway around the world. Seriously, why the need to be in a central corporate office? The lack of greenness of it all should be enough to make any PMO director or corporate executive shudder or duck and run away from the nearest environmentalist.
